Carolina is Associate Consultant at SupportA.
Carolina has research expertise on microbiology, molecular biology, systems and synthetic biology. Her passion is to support and advise healthcare and life sciences industries to foster disruptive innovation thereby developing products for the improvement of human health and the environment.
She is a biologist by training from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia holds a Master’s degree in Systems and Synthetic Biology from the Université Paris-Saclay (France) and a PhD in Biomedicine from the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, developing her research project at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) (Spain). She also carried out postdoctoral experience at the CRG spin-off “Pulmobiotics” and has further international research experience in renown laboratories at the CNRS and the CEA in France, at the TU Dresden, Heidelberg University and the German Cancer Research Center in Germany.
Carolina has worked as a project manager to set up and defined the governance and indicators of the Severo Ochoa and Maria de Maeztu alliance in Spain. She is currently pursuing an MBA and Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Escuela de Negocios Europea de Barcelona and is a scientific advisor and project reviewer for the BioExpert Network in Spain. Her motivation is to help Biotech, MedTech and Pharma companies to establish a successful Business Strategy and Development to access local markets.
Carolina is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English and French. She also understands Catalan.
