Alejandra Viviescas, PhD
Alejandra is Consultant and Content Manager at SupportA.
She has 7+ years of research experience in biochemistry, cellular biology, and tropical diseases, as well as 3+ years of experience in medical writing, project management, and relationship building with thought leaders in different industry sectors. Her passion is to help close the knowledge gap between academic research and the general public to achieve innovative solutions that benefit society.
Alejandra earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and moved to Brazil to pursue her PhD in genetics at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Brazil). During her time in academia, she worked in collaboration with other educational centers in Europe and Latin America.
During her PhD, she became aware of the importance of science communication and decided to transition into medical writing once she obtained her degree. As a freelance medical writer, Alejandra has worked with clients located in North America and Asia, helping them create innovative communication strategies, allowing them to reach different audiences, including peers, patients, and key opinion leaders.
Her experience managing cross departmental projects and building relationships with decision makers in different industries allows her to understand clients needs and establish personalized solutions. Now, she wants to apply that knowledge to the Latin American market to improve the quality of life in this region.
Alejandra is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English and Portuguese. In addition, she can communicate in French and German.
